Project Technician - Painter

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Industrial Painter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paints and coatings, and ensuring high-quality finish on industrial equipment, structures, and surfaces. This role requires knowledge of various painting techniques, safety standards, and the ability to work in diverse environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and applying primers or sealants.
  • Mix and apply paints, coatings, and finishes using brushes, rollers, or spray equipment.
  • Interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine painting requirements.
  • Operate and maintain painting tools and equipment, including spray guns, compressors, and scaffolding.
  • Ensure proper ventilation and safety measures are in place during painting operations.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for quality and touch up as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in painting or a related field is a plus.
  • Proven experience as an industrial painter or similar role.
  • Familiarity with painting techniques, surface preparation, and coating types.
  • Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and hazardous materials handling.

Preferred Skills:

  • Certification in industrial painting or coating application (e.g., NACE, SSPC).
  • Experience with abrasive blasting or powder coating.
  • Forklift or aerial lift certification.

Working Conditions:

  • Exposure to fumes, chemicals, and varying temperatures.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
  • May involve working in noisy, dusty, or outdoor environments.
